Largest Re-enlistment Ceremony - Ever
I’m sure you already know about this. It was shown over and over on TV, right?
OK, so maybe it wasn’t shown over and over, but surely it was shown on TV at least one time, wasn’t it?
This was the largest re-enlistment ceremony ever held in military history. The ceremony was held on the 4th of July, 2008 at Al Faw Palace, Baghdad , Iraq . General David Petraeus officiated. This amazing story was ignored by the ‘mainstream’ media.
For those who have been in the Al Faw Palace, you’ll have a better appreciation of the number of people crammed around the rotunda supporting the re-enlisting soldiers.
American men and women volunteering to stay longer in Iraq, so that when we leave, the new democracy will have a chance of surviving, is the exact opposite of what the media wants you to think about Iraq. If only a bomb had killed 5 civilians in a marketplace - now that’s the kind of news the media is eager to tell you about.
A pizzeria in Chicago donated 2000 pizzas that were made and shipped to Baghdad , and were delivered on the 4th.
The media did report that 2000 pizzas were sent to Iraq on July 4th… The only part they left out of the report was the event for which the pizzas were sent.
I can’t help but wonder…

Harry Reid had a meeting with Obama and told him to watch McCain because he was sure McCain was cheating. At the end of the 3rd day McCain returned with 50 fish and Obama none (he was busy spying on McCain). Officials at the Merced County school confirmed Thursday that Jake Shelly was forced to take off a red, white and blue tie-dyed American flag T-shirt on Tuesday. The shirt said nothing offensive, just: "United States of America, Washington, D.C."
The school's assistant principal issued Shelly a bright yellow T-shirt that read "DCV: Dress Code Violator" to wear for the rest of the day. He was given his shirt back after classes ended.

"Earlier in the day, Jake was speaking with a local news station when an unidentified teacher walked up to him, ripped off the microphone clipped to his shirt, and told him he was not allowed to talk to the media.

Washington D.C. - Gas prices remain much higher than last year, but members of Congress are leaving Washington without taking action to relieve the pain at the pump.
Obama's hypocrisy on equal pay for equal work
Obama's 28 male staffers divided among themselves total payroll expenditures of $1,523,120. Thus, Obama's average male employee earned $54,397.
Obama's 30 female employees split $1,354,580 among themselves, or $45,152, on average.
*Among Obama's 5 best-paid advisers, only 1 was a woman. Among his top 20, only 7 were women.
But McCain actually pays his female Senate staff more than the males:
McCain's 17 male staffers split $916,914, thus averaging $53,936. His 25 female employees divided $1,396,958 and averaged $55,878.
*Among his top-5 best-compensated staffers, 3 are women. Of his 20-highest-salaried employees, 13 are women.
So let's summarize.
Obama employs fewer women, and of the women he employs, only 1 is part of his five highest paid staffers. On top of that, Obama pays the women he does employ quite a bit less than he pays the men who work for him.
On the other hand, McCain employs quite a few women, and of the women he employs, 3 of them comprise his five highest paid staffers. Additionally, McCain pays the women he employs more than he pays the men who work for him.

And your response to the GOP nominee's choice for vice president--someone who has been elected once as governor (highest approval rating in the country) following a stint as an elected small town mayor--is to decry the lack of experience? Since they didn’t know anything about her (Sarah Palin), they started making things up. Anything that fit the caricature of a right-wing hypocrite was thrown up with, seemingly, no fact-checking.
They said she opposes contraception, when she said in a campaign debate that she is pro-contraception. They said she cut funding for pregnant teens, when she provided a massive funding hike.
They accused her of cutting funding for mentally disabled children, when she raised it 175 percent over the former administration. She was said to have been a member of the wacky Alaska Independence Party; The New York Times had to run a retraction.
Like Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Palin has been deemed one of the GOP’s rising stars. Since it’s national reporters job to cover American politics, their ignorance of about her is distressing.
